Joe Beddia opened Pizzeria Beddia in 2013 as a tiny, no-reservations pizza joint, producing just 40 pies a night. It gained an almost cult-like following after being named “Best Pizza in America” by Bon Appetit in 2015.

In 2019, Beddia partnered with Defined Hospitality to open a larger location in Fishtown, offering a modern, industrial-chic space with minimalist Scandinavian and Japanese-inspired interiors. Pizzeria Beddia 2.0 soars way beyond just pizza while still prioritizing top-quality ingredients. The new menu features natural-leaning wines, soft serve, small plates, and a full bar. In the back, an omakase-inspired "hoagie room" offers private dinners by reservation only.
